Igniting Your Creative Fire with Ash Bond

15th February | 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

£25
When was the last time you spent an afternoon re-igniting the embers of the passions that you had as a child? Drawing, writing, doodling, crafting, creating; all while unafraid of imperfection. Maybe you still do these things when you have a minute, or even a full day. Maybe like me you doodle on the edges of administrative notes or daydream of the words that you would say to that tree that you met in the woods.
This workshop, held so close to Valentine’s Day when we often seek to reforge connection with what we love, is a gift from yourself and to yourself.
We begin with ceremony, song and fierce, yet accessible, asana. We will work into hips, hands and the foundations of ourselves: our feet and our core. After lighting up our bones with the practice we will take this inspiration to the page, exploring creative exercises over warming cups of tea and raw chocolate.
We will share stories (both mythical, fantastical and if you feel you would like to, personal). If there is a particular story or poem you would like to share, feel free to bring it with you to speak into the circle.
Those who attended October’s journalling offering, contact me for a half price ticket. The content will be very different; different season and different intention.

What is Forrest Yoga?

Inspired by Ana Forrest’s Yoga, this is a full workout that builds flexibility, intelligence and strength while helping deepen the relationship with our authentic selves. Accessing our intuition – the voice of our Spirit – builds personal strength and ushers integrity into our daily interactions with all beings. Expect challenge, inversions and deep abdominal work to begin the class – to get you strong, centred and connecting you to you deepest core.

Your Teacher

Ash loves to tell stories, explore them, and ask what they mean. The thing is, we’ve all got a story that will break your heart, make you sigh, make you fall off your chair in tears of laughter and joy. What is ours? Where is it held in our bodies? And how, as teachers, do we help our students illuminate their own stories – help hold them up to the light and help embrace what is found there?

4 years studying Classics at Oxford, a few years after as an English teacher, one book published and with another in the works has given Ash notebooks full of daydreams, a bookshelf full of fairytales and a handy flair for weaving a tale. She is also about to embark on a further Writing Masters at BathSpa.

Story is one of Ash’s most useful tools for teaching Yoga. Her toolkit is varied however – bodywork, inversions, partner work, animal walks, singing, silliness, journalling, a kick-ass playlist, a juicy yoga nidra… all find their place, depending on the students that she meets on the mat that day. With these tools Ash hopes to gently guide her students to a place of visceral connection that feels authentic, intuitive and deeply healing.
